Marine
Mammal
Amusement
Parks
a
Bad
Idea Captive
marine
mammals,
like
dolphins
and
whales,
suffer
in
the
show
business
atmosphere
of
water
parks,
such
as
Six
Flags
and
Sea
World.
The
WSPA
recently
updated
their report,
"The
Case
Against
Marine
Mammals
in
Captivity,"
and
you
can
access
it
free
through
their
website.
(Animals
&
Society
Institute
has
their own
report
on
dolphin-human
interaction
and
its
negative
effects,
but
there
is
a
cost
to
order
it.)
We bring
this
up
because
again
this
year
the
Humane
Society
of
MO
partnered
with
Sea
World
for
the
Bark
in
the
Park
event,
held last
weekend.
We
aren't
Humane
Society bashing
here;
but,
you
have
to
wonder
why,
of
all
the
companies
to
sponsor
a
great
event
like
Bark
in
the
Park,
the
Humane
Society
insists
on
one
that
blatantly
exploits
wildlife.
In
addition
to the
animals
that
are
used
at
the
Sea
World
facility,
they
brought a
penguin
and
some
crocodiles to
the
event
under
the
pretense
that it's
an education
and
conservation
issue.
Everyone
knows
it's
really PR
to
coax
more
people
to
Sea
World.
We
respect
what
the
Humane
Society
does
in
terms
of
rescues
and
investigations,
adoptions,
veterinary
care,
and
so
forth.
Still, it
is
not
only
unnecessary
but
downright
misguided
to
use one
type
of
animal
in
the
process
of helping
another.

Please
contact
the
Humane
Society
and
politely
ask
them
to
reconsider
their
partnership
with Sea
World.
Nothing
would
be
lost
by
having
an
event
free
from
all
animal
exploitation. Humane

According
to
a

University

are
experimenting
with
the

We
object
to
another
city
forcing
horses
to
breathe
exhaust,
work
in
the
heat,
and
battle
traffic,
just
to
please
some
tourists.
Contact
U

officials
and the
restaurant
manager,
who
is
underwriting
this
