The time for the regular weekly demonstration at Pampered Pets in Chesterfield Mall is changed for this Saturday (May 9) only. The time is one hour earlier (Noon to 1:00 pm, instead of 1:00 pm start), to accommodate those wanting to attend the Petland demo in Lake St. Louis.

The Petland Rallies led by the HSUS have another demo scheduled this coming Saturday, May 9, at the Lake St. Louis Petland. The demo will take place from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, and you can find all the details on the START website. (There is a link to a map there as well.)

New Puppy Mill Outlet Demo
As if we don't already have enough, there is another new puppy mill outlet in the area, this one in St. Peters. It is run by a couple known for their longtime exploitation of dogs. They're so tacky they named the place "Puppies." And, it can't be a coincidence the store is situated between Toys R Us and Planet Fun. A demo is scheduled for Sunday, May 10, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. You can find all of these details on our site too, including specific directions. We realize it's Mother's Day, but really, what better way to spend it than speaking up for the mother dogs who are systematically abused so this couple can make money?

While We're on the Subject of Puppy Mills...
Last Chance for Animals, a champion of beleaguered dogs, will be featured on a special episode of "The Dog Whisperer," Friday, May 8 (tomorrow) at 8:00 pm CDT, on the National Geographic Channel. Cesar Millan will go with an undercover LCA investigator as he goes behind the scenes at puppy mills. (Be sure to send positive comments to the NGC.)

As for Oprah
Just when we thought we could count on Oprah to help fight animal abuse, she goes and offers a free KFC meal coupon! She just recently had a program on factory farming, too! Is her memory so bad she forgot the atrocious conditions in which these animals exist? Chickens make up the vast majority of the animals eaten, and they happen to be the most abused. On top of that KFC is probably the worst of the bunch. Let Oprah know what you think of her short-term memory.
