Welcome to the first e-mail
bulletin from Ringette Alberta Recognition
Committee. The ebulletin exists as an information
sharing resource for all members of Ringette Alberta.
The Recognition Committee is responsible for overseeing
and managing the recognition of volunteers and athletes
in Alberta, and the scholarship initiatives of Ringette
Alberta.
eBulletins will be distributed 3
times a season; September (Scholarships), January
(Awards), and May (Recognition, Awards and Scholarship
Season Review). |

Ringette
Alberta Scholarships
Post Secondary Students are
encouraged to apply through Ringette Alberta for both
the Ringette Alberta Scholarship and the Gaudreau Family
Scholarship which offer the opportunity of 6
scholarships being awarded worth a total of
$5500.00.
Ringette Alberta
Scholarships Ringette Alberta scholarships
are for ringette players who have demonstrated a strong
academic performance and a commitment to the sport of
ringette through active participation and involvement.
These scholarships are designed to encourage athletes to
maintain their involvement in ringette while pursuing
post-secondary studies. Five scholarships of $1000 each
will be awarded each year.
Applications must be
received by Ringette Alberta no later than October
31.
Gaudreau Family
Scholarships Thanks to the generosity of
Paul Gaudreau and his employer, Dow Chemical, another
scholarship is available to ringette players in the
province. Preference is given to existing AA players
from Zone 5 however if no suitable recipients apply, the
scholarship will go to a deserving House League athlete,
or athlete outside the Zone. The deadline for
applications is October 31 each year. One
scholarship of $500 each will be awarded annually each
fall.
Applications
must be received by Ringette
Alberta no later than October 31.
Ringette Alberta Scholarship
recipients will be announced in the May
eBulletin. |

Ringette
Canada Scholarships
Cara Brown
Scholarships To provide two (2) annual
scholarships of $750.00 each towards post-secondary
education for competitive ringette players at the AA
level who are entering university for the first time and
have demonstrated academic excellence combined with a
strong commitment to the sport of ringette. Funding for
the Cara Brown Ringette Scholarship is provided by Brown
Economic Assessments, which supports many community
events and courses through sponsorship and
donations.
Applications must be received by
Ringette Canada no later than January 31, each
year.
Agnes Jacks
Scholarship The Agnes Jacks Scholarship -
are named in honour of Mrs. Agnes Jacks who, following
the untimely passing of her husband Mr. Sam Jacks
(ringette's founder), picked up the gauntlet and became
a dedicated and tireless promoter of the sport. Mrs.
Jacks is a well known and well loved figure in the
ringette community and over the years became known
across Canada as ringette's "goodwill
ambassador".
This program provides a number of
scholarships of $1,000 each towards post-secondary
education for ringette players, coaches and officials
who demonstrate a strong commitment to the sport of
ringette. The number of scholarships offered each year
is determined by Ringette Canada's Board of
Directors.
Applications
must be received by Ringette Canada no later than
January 31, each year |
